Keetie Roelen, PhD is a Research Fellow and Co-Director of the Centre for Social Protection at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in the United Kingdom. Her research focuses the dynamics of (child) poverty, psychosocial effects of living in poverty and the role of welfare and social protection policy in alleviating poverty. Keetie has worked with many international organisations such as UNICEF, FAO and Concern Worldwide, performing research and policy advice work in South East Asia, Southern and Eastern Africa and Central and Eastern Europe. Her work has been published in the form of peer-reviewed journal publications and book chapters, working papers and project reports. Keetie is also founder and host of the podcast Poverty Unpacked.
